PEG donates to Govt effort to fight Covid-19
PEG Malaysia has committed to donate over RM500,000 to assist healthcare professionals combat the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
The donation in stages will be used to purchase test kits, ventilators, patient monitors and air purifiers for general hospitals in Malaysia and provide support for other government agencies.
PEG Founder Dato Sri’ Sherwin Chew says that PEG is collaborating with the Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Health to ensure that the donation reaches institutions that urgently need them.
“The Malaysian government and Health Ministry is working overtime to protect the citizens of this country. We recognise the extra strain this current situation is putting on them and particularly healthcare frontliners.
“This is why we have decided to contribute some of our resources to reducing the burden on the Malaysian healthcare system, enabling healthcare professionals to concentrate on looking after all of us,” he said today.
“It is time for all Malaysians to stay united. The Government and people’ s shared responsibility and cooperation are crucial to effectively combat Covid-19. PEG have full faith in the Government, and pledge our full support to the front-line medical personnel and healthcare workers for their big sacrifices and dedications in fighting the virus.”
Dato Sri’ Sherwin also thank those who have come forward so quickly and hope others will also support the initiative. He says that it is the time for all Malaysians to come together and Corporate Malaysia has an important role to play.
